Really great day out. Friendly staff who had time to talk to you about the exhibits. Went out of season so it wasn’t crowded. Some great exhibits in the museum.

Was a great castle to visit, not the terrible crowds we have been dealing with elsewhere. Very historic & true to how things were many centuries ago.

About: Carisbrooke Castle

Carisbrooke Castle is an English-Heritage landmark on the Isle of Wight. Surrounded by romantic English countryside – rolling hills, green pastures, and the like – the medieval castle sits right in the middle of the island.

Steeped in history and formerly a home to royal figures (Charles I was imprisoned there for over a year before his execution in the 17th century), Carisbrooke Castle tickets give you access to the entire grounds. That's the high castle walls with their exceptional island views, the vibrant Princess Beatrice Garden, the Norman Keep, the Carisbrooke Castle Museum, and more.

Don't forget to say hello to the resident donkeys – they've been there for donkey's years!
