The views are spectacular, and you can enjoy them for as long as you like. It's really up to you how long you want to spend at the top of Burj Khalifa, but most people spend about one hour on average.

Make sure you give yourself another hour to get to the top, as there are likely to be queues for the elevators – unless you have a ticket that includes skip-the-line access. The views are jaw-dropping whatever time you visit, but if you want to avoid queues and crowds it's best to visit Burj Khalifa in the early hours of the day (8:30 am - 10:00 am), early afternoon (1:30 pm - 3:30 pm) or after 8:30 pm when the sunset watchers have disappeared into the night.

Sunset in Dubai is between 5.30 pm - 7:00 pm depending on the time of year. If you're looking for those magical sunset views, plan to arrive at least an hour before. That will give you enough time to enjoy it in the light as well.

Anything larger than a small bag or purse will have to be checked in and collected on your return from the top. You'll also have to check in strollers. No food is allowed, and no pets – sorry dogs and cats, this one's for your humans only!
