Szechenyi Thermal Bath
For years, Budapest has been the wellness center of Europe. Bathhouses have flourished here ever since Roman times, and the lifestyle was refined after the conquest by the Turks. A relaxing day in this beautiful spa complex whisks you back in time among giant pillars and soothing pools, and puts you and your aching limbs in the largest medicinal bath in Europe!

Most of the positive reviews for this made my partner and I want to visit the spa, which was nice at first. However, a word of warning - do not attempt to play chess at the boards visible in the main pool:
I had an elderly man physically attack me when I had moved an empty bottle off a chessboard not being used. He angrily exclaimed something in Hungarian, with the only statement I understood being stated as "Private chess!".
I was obviously shocked, and walked away with my partner.
The lifeguard saw this and spoke to the elderly man, but it only seemed to be a verbal warning.
Therefore, a nice day was ruined by this event, and think the spa could've done something better about it:
1). If the chess was actually private/by invitation only then please put signs up to say this.
2). The spa should not stand for any physical abuse, and as such people misbehaving like this should be removed from the pool immediately.
If you do intend to go there, don't play the chess as the people are not at all friendly.
