Pontoon - Danube Palace

The Pontoon at Danube Palace is next to the pier, from which all dinner and sightseeing cruises leave in Budapest.

This bustling bar has great river views, so if you're early for your cruise, why not grab a cocktail and watch the people and boats go by? Pontoon is located at the foot of the Chain Bridge and is easy to reach on foot or by public transport.

Wine Cruise with Live Music
The booking was well managed. The cruise was great in terms of seeing Budapest by night from the boat. The wine tasting element wasn't brilliant - the wine was fine, but the presentation was somewhat lack-lustre.

Dinner Cruise on the Danube with Live Music
This cruise is a truly great way to see the sights along the banks of the Danube. We sat right by the musicians, which was fun as we felt as though we were really in the heart of the action. Buffet was delicious and plentiful. Only thing was it was a little short, (1.5 hours) and you're back before you've started! We didn't even have time for dessert, although it was right there all along. We made friends on the boat, who we went out with afterwards into the Jewish Quarter, so if you're looking to meet others this is the perfect place!

Party Cruise on the Danube
It was good, only one very small bar without a lot of choice. But the music was good and the river cruise along the Danube was just beautiful

Dinner Cruise on the Danube with Live Music
All in all it was a lovely trip, could have been bit longer but I suppose we had to get back to that the next lot could go out.
Not sure why we had to meet t the ticket office then all walk all the way down to the boat which the rep said was 10 minutes away when it really was a good 20 minutes. When we saw the boat we all went wow not know then that we would just walk through the foyer of that boat and get on to the boat on the other side. But it was ok the dining area was fine. They had a lovely band playing as we boarded and they played while we ate. The staff were friendly but not overly attentive. The drinks not overly priced as I had expected. I'm sure it stated we would get 3 drinks free but in the end it only turned out to be one and that was on arrival. The food was very nice and well presented and there was plenty of it. The obligatory cruise photographer appeared and the price of the picture was a pleasant surprise too.It was a fun evening but the only downside was that it was very very hot and there was no air con on board. The only air con was if you went up the stairs to the open deck but as there was hardly any breeze it was only slightly better than being in the dining hall. A nice way to spend a couple of hours and you don't need to dress up either.
