Hear Capa's voice, get a look at his handwriting and learn about the incredible, risky and oftentimes unbelievable life of the late Hungarian photographer - also known as the 'maverick from Budapest'.

Robert Capa made photo-history with his accounts of the Spanish Civil War, WWII, China, and Vietnam. In the words of his brother, "he lived a lot and suffered a lot during his short life. He was born poor and died poor."

See the Hungary-born photojournalist's life laid out in photos at the Robert Capa Contemporary Photography Center. Exhibits have been selected from a collection of almost 1,000 photographs from the Hungarian National Museum.
