Tips for visiting Bioparco Rome
Bioparco Rome is not a huge zoo; you could see the highlights in less than 2 hours. However, if you have little kids in tow, they'll want to stop and explore more. Plan on spending between 5-6 hours and you'll have plenty of time to see everything at a decent pace.
The best time to use your Bioparco Rome tickets is early in the morning when the zoo opens, or later in the afternoon before closing. This is when you'll experience fewer crowds around the animal enclosures. Keep in mind that it can get quite hot in the summer months, so take plenty of water and stop regularly in the shaded areas.
Going through the gates at Bioparco Rome you will see an ice cream shop, vending machines with drinks and packaged sandwiches, and other snacks all available for purchase. There are a couple more snack bars and a cafe inside. Many people also bring a picnic, which you can enjoy around the lake.
Strollers are allowed inside Bioparco Rome, but it's best to leave large bags and backpacks at home as there is limited storage available. No pets allowed, except guide dogs.
Bioparco Rome is a member of EAZA and WAZA, two important organizations dedicated to education and conservation. Facts about each species can be found at each enclosure, and there's lots of information relating to the wildlife trade, habitat fragmentation, organic farming and more. Your Bioparco Rome tickets will help the zoo continue its mission to educate people and help protect some of the world's most vulnerable species.
