Museum Island (Museumsinsel)

In 1999 Museum Island (Museumsinsel in German) was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It sure deserves the distinction: this small island on the Spree has a singular collection of buildings, all filled with art and cultural artifacts.

The five museums are: Altes Museum (Old Museum), Neues Museum (New Museum), Alte Nationalgalerie (Old National Gallery), Bode Museum, and Pergamon Museum. Each museum is a world-renowned storehouse of works of significant cultural value. Taken together this is one of the finest museum complexes in the world.

Pergamon Museum: Skip The Line
The queue was very long, so skipping the queue saves a lot of time. The museum as such was very nice, a lot of historical pieces, but not too big.

Es war schön angenehm, nicht anzustehen
Schade nur, dass der Oergamonaltar erst 2020 wieder zu besichtigen ist

Pergamon Museum: Skip The Line
Very convenient.
Note that the museum is under going renovations and some of the major exhibitions are closed but I still enjoyed the museum, particularly the Ishtar gate
