Palau Baró de Quadras: Guided Tour
This was an interesting tour. You could really see the guide was enjoying her job and wanted to ifect the audience with her own enthusiasm for the house, it's history and the history of Barcelona. Unfortunately, not all the original interiors have been preserved and almost no furniture, now it also houses offices of a working institution, so you cannot see the house as it really was before. However, the guide woudl show you photographs from the past so you could picture how the rooms used to look. SHe also explained a lot about how the house was built and why, how it reflected the social strata at that time, what nifty designs the architect implemented when building it to compensate for varios limitations that existed, etc. Really worth an hour of your time and certainly not as crouded as visits to other great houses of Barcelona.
