Fundació Joan Miró
The hometown museum of one of the 20th century's greatest artists is appropriately Surrealist. The Fundació Joan Miró not only houses the single greatest collection of his work - the unconventional building is considered one of the most outstanding museum buildings in the world.
Once you step inside, you’ll discover the paintings, sculptures, some textiles and drawings. There are thousands of items here and you’ll be able to pick out the artistic evolution of the artist.

asked my hostal receptionist in Barcelona.
Well, having gone to the Fundacio de Joan Miro, the answer is simple:
Miro draws, paints and sculpt with the HEART and PASSION of a little child. He celebrated every vision as if he were seeing for the very first time.
His was a World without clutter; a World of minimal beauty.
To me he was proclaiming, “I am not competing with the Artwork of God, I am appreciating it as a child, in the simplest of palette and line.”
The very building echoes this clarity, purity and luminosity.
I felt so a home. A relaxed tea in the cafe and I contemplated spending the day there. I walked outside and there was a hop on bus. What service.
Food choices limited. Decent menu but only 1 option available from each section and we were there at lunchtime.
Staff all very helpful. Would definitely recommend visiting.
