The Heineken Experience is located in the original Heineken Brewery. Gerard Adriaan Heineken bought this building back in 1863 when it was the De Hooiberg brewery. He then turned it towards the production of his eponymous beer. The building remained a brewery all the way up to 1988. It was then that it became a museum (and hotspot for Heineken consumption).
Located in the vibrant neighborhood of De Pijp, the Heineken Experience is ideally situated for a canal cruise, and some city exploration that takes you away from the hustle and bustle of Dam Square.
Since 2001, it's been the world-famous Heineken Experience. After a year-long update and redesign in 2008, the Heineken Experience is more Heineken-y and Experience-y than ever before.

You are asked to be present at the departure location at least 15 minutes before departure. From Amsterdam Central Station you can take the free ferry to the NDSM wharf (purple line, F4)

See traditional Dutch windmills near Amsterdam and colorful wooden houses will transport you to another century. Pass by enormous cruise ships as you sail through the second-largest port in the Netherlands, and wave goodbye to the noise of the city as you sail towards Zaandam on a 2-hour cruise.
In fine weather, you can enjoy the panoramic deck of the ship, for an unobstructed view over the peaceful scenery along the way. Once you arrive at Zaanse Schans, you'll have two free hours to walk around and explore the adorable, quaint village, before sailing back to Amsterdam with lungs full of fresh country air and all the windmill selfies you could wish for!
