If you're reading this, then the idea of scaling Machu Picchu is no longer confined to daydreams and wanderlust Instagram profiles. Before you know it, you'll be breathing in Peruvian mountain air and admiring the world-famous Inca citadel first hand!

This skip-the-line pass grants you access to Machu Picchu for the sort of experience that, unless you're a tour guide or an archaeologist, only comes around once.

Having met your guide outside the citadel, you'll be escorted within the walls to marvel at the ruins of the city, which was hastily abandoned in the 16th century when those pesky bearded Spaniards turned up in Peru. You'll need to pick your jaw off the floor pretty quickly, because there's a lot to see.

Your guide will verse you in as much Inca history as your brain can soak up, explaining how the sacred city might have functioned when emperor Pachacuti reigned from his perch above the Sacred Valley.

You'll also be led to see what would have been vital strategic locations within the city. Intipunku served as a principal entrance into Machu Picchu, while the Inca Bridges provided a secret way in and out for the army, and the elites who resided there.
