Once the world's tallest ferris wheel, the London Eye has 32 sealed and air-conditioned capsules, each holding up to 25 people. It is located near Waterloo and the River Thames. A ride on the Eye takes 30 minutes as it trips through 360 degrees of London.
From high in the sky you get spectacular views of the city, from Westminster Abby to the Tower of London, the winding Thames and good old Big Ben.
The London Eye yearly receives more visitors than the Taj Mahal and the Great Pyramids of Giza. It's definitely a highlight of any trip to London, but in high season queues can be long.
