I enjoyed this but as with other locations they demand passports to get the audio guide, which have to be left at the kiosk which I would be uneasy doing to be honest. Fortunately I encountered a sensible lady on the desk, and as I had no passport with me she accepted a €20 note as security. This was unique in my experience. I had recently read a book called ‘The Blood Star’ by Nicholas Guild in which the main characters end up at Naxos after many adventures. This was a key reason for me wanting to visit the site. To be frank, it is not very well laid out, the guide map is rudimentary to say the least and the remains are not well marked. Sometimes there is a number to indicate where one is on the map and that corresponds to the audio guide number, but I have found at this and other sites that these can be difficult to locate or missing. In the UK you would usually have a label indicating what one is looking at, that does not seem to hold in Italy. This meant we were often scratching our heads at what we were looking at. Would definitely go again but likely would not bother with the audio guide. I think if you are visiting you need to read up prior to departure to get the most from this site.

Objev, kam starověcí Řekové poprvé vkročili na Sicílii, když procházíš ruinami, které se datují téměř 3000 let zpět. Prohlédni si stěny Naxu v archeologické oblasti a objev ozdoby a ostatky z doby před zříceninou Naxu v 5. století před naším letopočtem v Archeologickém muzeu Naxu.
Starověké divadlo v Taormině je antický řecko-římský amfiteátr v sicilské Taormině. Bylo vybudováno antickými Řeky asi tak ve 3. století před naším letopočtem a zrenovováno Římany asi o 500 let později.
Divadlo vytesané v sicilských kopcích funguje dodnes. Na jevišti, které se pyšní hvězdným výhledem na oceán a okolní krajinu, vystupovaly osobnosti jako Bob Dylan, Elton John nebo Sting. S běžným klubem se to nedá srovnat!
Archeologický a krajinný park Údolí chrámů v Agrigentu na Sicílii je se svými 1300 hektary největším archeologickým nalezištěm na světě. Nachází se zde mnoho příkladů velkořeckého umění a architektury a je národní památkou Itálie. V roce 1997 byla oblast zapsána na seznam světového dědictví UNESCO.
Regionální naturalistické muzeum Isolabella je butikové muzeum nacházející se v architektonicky jedinečné vile na krásném sicilském ostrově Isola Bella.
Uvnitř najdeš celou řadu exponátů, které zachovávají a předvádějí jedinečnou biosféru, geologii a kulturní dědictví ostrova, stejně jako vlastní architekturu vily, která je důmyslně navržena tak, aby splynula s okolní krajinou.
