Arthur Guinness founded the Guinness brand by using his 100 pound inheritance from his godfather to start a brewery. He signed a 9,000-year lease back in 1759 to create a brewery on four acres in St. James’s Gate, Dublin.

The brewery became an iconic, world-renowned operation throughout the decades. St. James’s Gate became its own mini-city at one point with its own railway and fire brigade. The first global shipment of the delicious “black stuff” left for England in 1796. Since then, millions have enjoyed Guinness all over the world.

Where can you eat at the Guinness Storehouse?

The Gravity Bar on top of the Guinness Storehouse.
