In 1759, he signed a 9,000-year lease on a former brewery site at St. James&#8217;s Gate in the city center. He immediately began brewing both ale and porter, with the first known export of Guinness leaving for England in 1796. It is in the St. James\u2019s Gate area, with the familiar smell of hops wafting out of the factory. If you\u2019re traveling to the Guinness Storehouse by tram, then you\u2019ll take the Red LUAS Line directly to St. James\u2019s tram stop. You can grab the Red Line from Dublin City Centre toward Tallaght before getting off at James\u2019s LUAS stop. The buses come pretty frequently, so you\u2019ll never be waiting long for one. However, remember to have your Leap card on the bus, or otherwise, you\u2019ll need exact change. You can also use a popular app in Dublin called FREE NOW or grab an Uber, which are both very reliable throughout the city.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also drive a private car and try first-come-first-serve free parking near the Guinness Storehouse on Crane Street. Please keep in mind that the parking on Market Street is reserved for coaches, and you will not be able to park there.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how-to-get-to-the-guinness-storehouse-by-footnbsp\">  <strong>How to get to the Guinness Storehouse by foot <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n<p>The Guinness Storehouse is located near Dublin City Centre, so it\u2019s common for travelers to walk to the Guinness Storehouse from other Dublin landmarks. It\u2019s about a 30-minute walk from Trinity College to the Guinness Storehouse. You can start from College Green and simply walk west down Dame Street before passing the Christ Church Cathedral on your right.
