Only 30 kilometers from central Medell\u00edn, this green oasis has a long Indigenous history and is a rich, natural paradise that\u2019s very popular in the Santa Elena region.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the early 2000s, local entities worked hard to protect this important Colombian ecosystem and make it available for visitation. The park finally opened to tourists and locals in 2010. Parque Arv\u00ed\u2019s bountiful wildlife, like its rare butterflies and miniature orchids, makes it a top environmental tourist destination.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how-to-get-to-parque-arvi-by-arvi-metrocablenbsp\"><strong>How to get to Parque Arv\u00ed by Arv\u00ed Metrocable <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n<p>The most popular option for getting to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiqets.com\/en\/parque-arvi-tickets-l175940\/?partner=tiqetsblog&amp;tq_campaign=ParqueArviHTGTChildPost\">Parque Arv\u00ed <\/a>is to board the Arv\u00ed Metrocable \u2013 and for good reason! The Metrocable promises incredible views while traveling up the mountain to Parque Arv\u00ed. Parque Arv\u00ed is a desirable day trip from Medell\u00edn because the Metrocable is accessible and has stunning views of the city and countryside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re taking the Metrocable from Medell\u00edn, you\u2019ll first start at the Acevedo Metro Station. The Acevedo Metro Station is part of Line A of the Medell\u00edn Metro. From Acevedo, you\u2019ll go up the stairs and to the right to transfer to Line K towards Santo Domingo station. After arriving at the Santo Domingo station, you\u2019ll finally board the famous Metrocable to Parque Arv\u00ed.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tiqets.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/parque-arvi-2.jpg\" alt=\"The best birds know how to get to Parque Arv\u00ed \" class=\"wp-image-188251\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Parque Arv\u00ed is a feast of nature<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>The whole Metrocable ride takes about 20 minutes to travel to Parque Arv\u00ed. If the skies are clear, you\u2019re promised one-of-a-kind views, so make sure to keep your eyes wide open! When you arrive at the park, be sure to join one of Parque Arv\u00ed\u2019s tours, such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiqets.com\/en\/parque-arvi-tickets-l175940\/?product=1010281&amp;partner=tiqetsblog&amp;tq_campaign=ParqueArviHTGTChildPost\">Tiqets\u2019 Hike or Bike Guided Tour.<\/a> The tour is available in either English or Spanish and teaches about the pre-Hispanic history of the region and everything there is to know about the native flora.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you plan to take the Arv\u00ed Metrocable to leave Parque Arv\u00ed, then <strong>do not leave later than 5:30 pm<\/strong>. You can expect long lines at the end of a beautiful day, and the Metrocable closes firmly at 6 pm. Don\u2019t panic, there is another way to get to Parque Arv\u00ed that keeps you squarely on the ground. Visitors can jump in a taxi from Medell\u00edn for an easy, relaxing ride to Parque Arv\u00ed. However, it\u2019s recommended to ask your hotel or hostel to help arrange your taxi to Parque Arv\u00ed. The whole ride from the center city to the park\u2019s entrance should take no less than an hour.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s not recommended to travel there in your own car unless you are very familiar with the local area. Getting to Parque Arv\u00ed can be quite complicated and involves traveling on unmarked roads. Get a local guide to assist you on your way to Parque Arv\u00ed for the best experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Always travel with cash while visiting Colombia. Many local businesses do not accept credit cards. Make sure you board the Transacoop company bus, which runs every 30 minutes starting at 6 am. The bus will leave from the front of Instituci\u00f3n Universitaria Escolme from Calle 50, which is between Carrera 40 and 41. The bus ride is beautiful, and you\u2019ll get a glimpse of the local countryside on your way to Parque Arv\u00ed. The entire bus trip will take around an hour.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Don\u2019t forget, if you miss the last Metrocable car ride at 6 pm, you can hop on one of the Transacoop buses back into the center of Medell\u00edn.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Parque Arv\u00ed is a stunning environmental escape that prides itself on preserving the natural forests of the Santa Elena region. A visit to this serene green space promises beautiful wildflowers, almost 300 species of native trees, and maybe even some rare butterfly sightings.
